Your physical therapy program begins with a thorough evaluation, analyzing posture, movement, strength, balance, coordination, flexibility and joint mobility. Treatments are always individualized and include education on improving and preventing your condition, including a home exercise program. Your therapists may use manual skills such as joint mobilization, myofascial release, soft tissue mobilization and perhaps craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation or active release techniques to facilitate your progression. Therapeutic modalities are also used to assist your healing including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, paraffin, therapeutic light, moist heat, cryotherapy, iontophoresis, phonophoresis, biofeedback and traction.
