Welcome to O.M.P.T Physical Therapy!

A Revolution in Physical Therapy

O.M.P.T means Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy. O.M.P.T practitioners are highly educated, trained and practiced – far more than traditional physical therapists, with 2,000 hours of additional study and training.

O.M.P.T Specialists use hands-on techniques to improve range of motion and function while alleviating symptoms. Our advanced approach offers patients a better quality of care and, in the end, better results over traditional physical therapy treatments.

At O.M.P.T Specialists, there is another key difference: every patient is given one-on-one, custom care. In traditional physical therapy settings, one PT often handles several cases at a single time. But every O.M.P.T practitioner gives complete attention to a single patient, which in itself means better, more focused care.

And since a vast majority of O.M.P.T cases (approximately 99%) are covered by insurance, there is no additional cost for the patients for this better-quality care.
The O.M.P.T Difference

Traditional physical therapy focuses on the treatment of mere symptoms. Often this means an unresponsive treatment because the real cause of the problem may be located elsewhere. This treatment of “referred pain” can lead to an inaccurate physical therapy evaluation and ineffective treatment.

Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy focuses on thorough, one-on-one evaluations by better-trained practitioners, hands-on techniques and cause-based treatments. Ultimately, the goal is to improve the quality of range of motion, maximizing function and comfort.

Facilities

O.M.P.T Specialists offers advanced patient care in a comfortable, welcoming environment that features high-tech equipment from Cybex, as well as a Triton traction table for neck and back patients. All of the equipment allow for controlled, safe treatments and, in the case of the Triton unit, provide in-depth printed reports that measure progress.

In addition to traditional physical therapy equipment, O.M.P.T Specialists is in the process of adding an aquatic therapy center for specialized, low-impact training and recovery. This addition is unique to the area, making us one of the only private clinics (not in a hospital) offering such an advanced treatment option.

Patient Testimonials

“I first met Mr. Fahmy last year after I had my knee replacement surgery. Michael and his staff gave me the attention I needed. I have had several back and knee problems and he was there for me the whole time.
I think he is the best physical therapist I have ever met: besides being very competent Michael is helpful as well as personable. I would not go to anyone else; I even recommended him and his center to my own patients.”
- Dr. Krugel, Southfield, MI

“I have been receiving physical therapy at O.M.P.T Specialists, Inc. The therapy provided in their facility is very high quality, utilizing state of the art equipment in a positive, collaborative environment. The therapists not only provide care for acute injury, but also assist their patients in planning for transition to independent continuation of exercise programs.
I am convinced that the use of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy has significantly contributed to the improvement of my spinal condition. The therapists at O.M.P.T Specialists are dedicated professionals who work hard to provide their patients with the best possible therapy.”
- Lisa M.
“O.M.P.T is second to none. I began seeing an O.M.P.T specialist after an ankle replacement surgery last year, and rather than just doing simple exercises or balancing on a board, he worked with me through a variety of massages and strengthening techniques to loosen my Achilles and help me walk without pain.
My surgeon did a wonderful job but if it were not for O.M.P.T I would not be walking nearly as well as I am. They took the time to consult with my surgeon before proceeding with therapy - that was so important to me. All in all I was treated wonderfully by the entire staff.”
- Kate L., Bloomfield Township, MI

“Mr. Michael Fahmy was so efficient and dedicated. He displayed a professional, caring manner. I had a partially ruptured tendon in my left knee, and he helped me to overcome my disability in just a few weeks.”
- Manfred H., Waterford, MI
“My doctor wanted me to go to a regular physical therapy clinic but friends had told me about Michael and I insisted on seeing him. The difference is unbelievable. He pays attention to me and has helped me so much. He really cares about people and I have told my orthopedic surgeon about him.”
- Reinart G., Bloomfield Hills, MI

O.M.P.T. is a physical therapy company with some outstanding personnel, including a professor of physical therapy at Oakland University who is one of the most respected physical therapists in town, that being John Krause.
Not only have I sent many patients to this facility, but I have also used them personally. I have found them to be an outstanding physical therapy facility not only to deliver clinical rehabilitation, but they also demonstrated the ability to perform objective testing for functional capacity evaluations. I would not hesitate to use this facility for an objective, detailed functional capacity evaluation.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Ronald S. Lederman, M.D.
Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine

“I was referred to O.M.P.T Specialists for therapy on severe areas of pain that I have been having which prevent me from exercising, especially walking. Initially, I was introduced to the water therapy called Hydro Track where the water is heated to a perfect temperature. The treadmill and two water jets that give resistance are extremely comforting as I’m walking. It is truly a wonderful and satisfying experience. I’m able to walk for long periods of time with absolutely no pain. I haven’t been able to say that for years. After my appointments, even days later, I still felt the benefits of the water therapy. I could feel improvement in all the major areas that I needed it like my legs with peripheral arteries completely clogged, joints in both knees, right hip, and cardiovascular problems. I feel I am able to get around a lot easier and think for the first time in years, I might be able to go the University of Michigan football games next season!”
- Dr. Robert Galin D.D.S.
A grateful patient to O.M.P.T, Hydro Track, and the O.M.P.T staff
________________________________________

“After coming off knee surgery to replace a completely torn A.C.L, the Aqua Track is a perfect form of physical therapy for me. Unlike walking on solid ground, I am able to walk for an unlimited amount of time without experiencing any pain or agitation whatsoever because of the extremely low impact my knee endures. Although I am unable to jog more than 20 to 30 feet without feeling pain outside or on a standard treadmill, I can job for 10 minutes comfortably on the Aqua Track. Considering the fact that the water is heated to 98 degrees, I feel like I’m getting a solid workout and strengthening my knee while taking a warm bath. I can honestly say that it’s probably the highlight of my week. I usually have to drag myself outside to go to the gym, but I truly look forward to coming here for therapy and the Aqua Track”.
- Daniel Baron
________________________________________

“The Hydro Track underwater treadmill is great! It truly helped me “learn” how to walk with my new hip resurfacing implant. The water supported my bad back and my new hip in such comfort that I was able to concentrate on my walking in a way that I had not been able to do on dry land. The water pressure and resistance and the viewing window gave my therapist the opportunity to more accurately see my muscles work in definition, to make suggestions for gait and adjustment and with my feedback to more precisely evaluate my status and progress. After just two sessions I felt as if I might be able to put my cane away. That’s tremendous because that second session took place only one month and two weeks after my hip resurfacing surgery. I tell everyone I meet who has had hip surgery or know someone who has had hip surgery to come to O.M.P.T Specialists to find an underwater treadmill to help them to recover. I would recommend that anyone who is in therapy for their back, lower extremities and walking to discuss with their O.M.P.T therapist the benefits they may gain from trying the underwater treadmill. “
Thank you O.M.P.T!

Barclay Physical Therapy (Specialize in Aquatic Therapy)

10. Barclay Physical Therapy (Specialize in Aquatic Therapy)

555 Barclay Circle Suite 110, Rochester Hills, MI 48307

Welcome to Barclay Physical Therapy. Since opening in 1992, we’ve helped thousands of individuals with their rehabilitation process. We strive to deliver optimal results and accomplish our goal of helping patients regain control of their body and life and return to enjoying activities of daily living without pain and discomfort. In fact, according to Foto and Evicore/Landmark data, Barclay Physical Therapy ranks in the top 2% for shoulder treatment and top 5% for back pain treatment, nationally, against peers.

We accept more than 65 different insurance plans, including Blue Care Network, Health Alliance Plan, Molina and various Medicaid plans. We offer semi-private treatment areas, ease of parking, ramp accessibility and are one of few clinics to offer pool therapy. We guarantee scheduled appointments within 24-48 hours of a call.

At Barclay Physical Therapy, we do not double-book clients. Patients can expect to receive one-on-one care by the same therapists on each visit, with a minimum of 45 minutes of direct care, which enables us to build meaningful relationships and maximize outcomes. Our philosophy is "Gain with Little or Minimal Pain." If you are in pain, then it's not fixing the problem and we need to try something else.

Our hands-on, personalized approach combined with our clinical know-how is the key to our success. Each staff member brings his or her own specialized area of expertise. Our experienced therapists provide excellence in care by compassionately listening to our patients, hearing their concerns, and learning what works and what doesn’t. We set personal goals and work in partnership with the client, his/her doctor, physical therapist, and family members and/or caregivers, to design an individualized program that specifically meets the unique needs of the patient. We work together as a team to address the root cause of the problem and adjust the physical therapy protocol until it’s the right fit.

At Barclay Physical Therapy, we empower the patient. We not only treat the individual, but we also teach. Education is a key component in patient recovery and prevention of re-injury. We strongly encourage patients and their families to access our website for useful information and links to resources, including videos. At the conclusion of treatment, patients are trained in and sent home with strategies to continue strengthening and improvement. We also offer maintenance therapy, at a nominal cost, to patients wishing to continue with exercises in the clinic setting after physical therapy ends.

Eighty percent of our patients are repeat clients. However, at Barclay Physical Therapy, patients are not just customers; they are members of our extended family and we know everyone by name. Call us now if you believe we can help you and experience the difference!

But when I walked into the doors of Barclay Physical Therapy I experienced a new look on life I was able to move around and feel happy because I wasn't in extreme pain as I was before. I recommend everyone who is experiencing pain, anxiety, depression, or even hopelessness to not give up but please give this clinic a try and I promise u that u will not regret coming here. Merrillynn L. - Rochester..April 2018
“I have had PT before but I have never had such a thoughtful and kind series of exercises and such a thoughtful person helping me. I never waited for an appointment. They were always waiting for me and I'm a person who is always early. This was a great experience!”

Linda A. - Auburn Hills..March 2018
"Over the years, I have been to a few different physical therapy places but this is the best. They are friendly and accommodating regarding appointment times. I enjoy the one-on-one interaction working with a therapist. You feel that you are their only client. They work directly with you and make sure you are doing the exercises correctly for the most benefit. They want to find out what works best to help you improve. The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Even though I did not utilize pool therapy, it is nice to know that they have a pool on site." (Google 5/5)

Dannette F. - Utica..March 2018
"When I started coming to Barclay P.T. I was in so much pain from Degenerative disc C 6-7 that I was almost on my knees in tears. Murali and Kathy are absolutely wonderful. They are kind and knowledgeable and have helped relieve my pain tremendously. I would definitely recommend them for anyone that requires Physical Therapy." (Google 5/5)

Geri S. - Rochester Hills ..Feb 2018
“I am a RN and had bad ankle injury. I found this PT center after researching and reading reviews. I attended this PT center for three months for the severely sprain ankle. My therapist Murali was wonderful, very professional and knowledgeable. I'm now back to my previous activities. Would recommended this therapy center for any injuries." (Facebook 5/5)

Dennis H. - Sterling Heights ..1 month ago
“I aggravated my lower spine while golfing causing severe muscle spasms that took me away from my favorite physical activity. I remembered that I had been treated at Barclay PT in the past for the same thing. I had simply quit doing my back exercises that I learned from Kathy Yax with the predictable outcome. Kathy took me back in and began PT right away and my spasm got under control at the time. When I resumed golfing after a few weeks I re aggravated the injury and the spasms became much worse. I called with that situation and was able to come in without an appointment. The best I can tell anyone is that this is a great facility staffed by people who really care that you get better. I have been treating with Lisa Guisty recently doing Pilates exercises with great results. Lisa, like Kathy and the rest of the staff that I have met are kind, caring and highly knowledgeable and professional. Thanks so much for your help ladies. I'm staying until I feel the best I can at age 73." (Facebook 5/5)

Faye A. - Rochester, MI..5 months ago
The Barclay PT-Rochester Hills staff were awesome! Special shout out to Kathy, Lisa and Murali. Before my mother had PT sessions, she could barely lift her right arm. But just after the first session, she noticed a big difference right away. Her therapists were very caring, considerate and mindful of my mother's PT needs. They made sure my mother was well enough before she was discharged. We are so very pleased with Barclay PT-Rochester Hills. (Google 5/5)

R. M. - Troy, MI ..5 months ago
“It was back 2 years ago, March 2015, I had my first surgery for rotator cuff repair. I chose Barclay PT to guide me in my recovery. In January of this year, 2017, I had a second surgery for the same rotator cuff. The doctor went back in due to a portion of the first surgery that did not heal properly. Again, I came back to Barclay PT to take over my healing process. In 2015, Kathy handled my case and as then and now, she is certainly providing the most professional, quality care in seeing I get the best chance to become 100% as my body will allow. Along with her student, Marissa, I am looking forward to a great recovery. If I am ever asked my opinion for a therapy option, I would without a doubt recommend Barclay PT.”

E. H. - Royal Oak ..5 months ago
“I came to Barclay PT suffering from a very tense neck, shoulders and back. Within 3 visits my range of motion had increased immensely. Kathy, Marissa and Tiffany were great! They made sure I received benefits from their services so that my time was not wasted. This clinic put me ahead of a money machine. That seems to be rare anymore. Thank you for your service - 5 star rating!”
