Lauren Gilley, DPT

Lauren Gilley is the lead Physical Therapist at NovaCare�s Monroe clinic, located at 286 North Main Street. As a valued member of the NovaCare team, Lauren enjoys working with an active population including all levels of sports injuries and has a special interest in the treatment of young athletes. A runner and triathlete, Lauren has first-hand knowledge of athletic injuries and she is adept at assessing the pathology of sports injuries, identify training errors, and correcting form to prevent injury. Lauren is likewise proficient in the rehabilitation of lymphedema as well as balance and vestibular disorders. Her treatment style always stresses the importance of physical fitness with all of her patients in order to assist them to make permanent, healthy, changes in their lives.

Lauren received her Bachelor of Science Degree from The Ohio State University, and earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Cincinnati. She has complemented her formal education with a number of continuing education courses including, Running Injuries and Advanced Lower Extremity Biomechanics, Manual Therapy of the Lower Quarter, and Clinical Approach to Therapeutic Taping. She is certified in vestibular rehabilitation as attested by the American Institute of Balance Education Foundation and is also proficient in the application of I.A.S.T.M. (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization) to decrease pain and increase function. Future plans for Lauren include further advancing her orthopedic skills by obtaining her Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (O.C.S.) designation.
